Boys and girls of all abilities from around the nation can try their hand at the fundamental skills of golf: driving, chipping and putting. Any kid can participate — it’s not just for juniors who go out and play 18 holes regularly. And the competition is completely free!
Scoring is based solely on performing the three skills, and competitors get to try each one three times. Kids compete in four age divisions: 7-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15 (based on participant’s age as of the National Finals in April 2018).
The top performers at the local level advance through sub-regional and regional qualifying rounds, where 80 finalists (40 boys and 40 girls) earn an invitation to the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club on the eve of the Masters Tournament.
For the second consecutive year, a girl will be representing the Capital Region at Augusta National in April 2017. Kennedy Swedick from Voorheesville won the Girls 10-11 Age Division to advance to the finals. Congrats to Kennedy!
Last year, Nicole Criscone of Clifton Park competed at Augusta in the same age division. Check out Nicole’s adventure.
Limited to the first 200 participants who register at each venue. Starting time will be assigned after registration. Three golfers from each age/gender category, from each venue, advance to sub-regionals.
